Identification

This part introduce the subject of the description. It provides general information to identify the person, place, thing, or event being described.

Description

This part provide detailed information about the subject. It describes various aspects such as appearance, qualities, and characteristics.

Language Feature of Descriptive Text

Specific Nouns

use specific nouns to provide precise information. For example, instead of “animal,”use “dog,””cat,”or “elephant.”

Adjective

Use adjective to describe nouns and give more detail. For example, “a tall building,””a beautiful garden.”

Action Verbs

use action verbs to describe action, behaviors, or activities. For example, “The cat sleeps on the window sill.

Figurative Language
Use similes, metaphors, and other figurative language to create vivid imagery. For example, “Her smile was as bright as the sun.”

Present Tense
Descriptive texts are often written in the present tense.

Spatial Order
The description often follows a spatial order, describing things from top to bottom, left to right, etc.
